Reflecting in Glasgow
We were through in Glasgow today for a couple of concerts – the choir was part of a big collaboration called The Big Breakthrough, and had 2 performances at Celtic Connections.
I went out for a wander in a brief break in the middle of the day, and was enjoying the combination of sunshine, puddles and architecture.

This one is my favourite:

If you can’t work it out, try looking at it upside down!
Autumn in Scotland
I seem to have a blog blip – for some reason lots of folk can’t view the last post, so here’s another one to see if it was just a temporary hitch.
This was one of those lovely photography moments when it all comes together just when the camera was out!

Highland sunshine
I love moments like this! After a ridiculously wet couple of days, there was a wee burst of evening sun over Morvern in the Scottish Highlands, and I was lucky to be out with the camera just at the right time to take this landscape shot.

Lovely Lismore
This weekend was another Lismore Fiddle Retreat weekend, full of magical moments. Lots of chuckles, music, learning, great company, and there was plenty of rain! But the sun showed up briefly over Loch Linnhe.
Thanks Laura, for suggesting this one as a gallery photo title!

Taransay – the West side
Photos from the Outer Hebrides
Over on the West side of Taransay there’s an isthmus at Loch Uidhe. Both sides of the isthmuis have glorious sandy beaches.

The beach, Traigh an Siar, is completely pristine.

On the other side of the isthmus is Loch Uidhe, with a small bothy at the East end of the beach.

This is a popular bay for visiting boats anchoring.

A photo taken in Edinburgh…in bright sunshine
ok…so the challenge from Niall was to take a photo of anything I liked around Edinburgh…in bright sunshine.
So here’s something I like a lot – it makes me chuckle.

It must be the sea air that gets the elderly folk folk so frisky…
Summer evening on Taransay
This summer I spent a fortnight on the island of Taransay, off the West coast of Harris. Taransay is uninhabited most of the year, with just a few folk holidaying in the 2 houses in the summer months. For a week in July, a heap of happy fiddlers bring their tents and instruments for 7 days in heaven.
