The young Orcadian band ‘Broken Strings’ played a cracking set at the Scots Fiddle Festival a couple of weeks ago.

Scots Fiddle Festival – opening concert 2011
What a cracking night that was! First on were Tyde, and band of young musicians from the Newcastle Traditional Music Course.

The remainder of the night shot by when Duncan Chisholm and Tony Byrne came on stage.

Edinburgh Mela opening night
I’ll be taking photos at the Edinburgh Mela this weekend. I started off at the Leith Links site for the opening ceremony this evening. What a lovely surprise to find that Mairi and Dave were due to be playing!

Heeliegoleerie
A couple of photos from a trip to Edinburgh’s Bongo Club last week to take photos for the fabulous ceilidh band Heeliegoleerie. They were playing for one of the regular Ceilidh Club ceilidhs.
There was a whole load of energy in that room!
