The night afore
It’s the night afore Hogmanay, and the Vikings were in town, giving it laldy on their way to the ship on top of Calton Hill. It looks like a wee toy here, but it was probably over 20 foot tall. There were apparently 20,000 folk up there watching. The ship looked pretty peaceful just before the Vikings arrived on the hill and set fire to it…

…and after the boat burning, there was a full immersion fireworks display – they were going off all around us. It was some display, but undoubtedly just a small warm up for the bells.
